Chuck Klosterman is a funny man. In this article, he discusses the 10 most accurately rated artists in rock history. These artists are neither overrated, nor underrated. If you only have time for a skim, be sure to spend some extra time on the Tone Loc entry.
My favorite line from that aricle is, 'Our House was a pretty great single, but its nobodys favorite song. Nobody seems to dispute that assertion, either.' It honestly sounds as if he called a bunch of people to see if anyone would argue with that claim. Another person I would add to the rightly-rated list is Jimi Hendrix. He was an icon that revolutionized the way the guitar is played. Also, he died before he could reach the under/over-rated status.

I'm personally shocked at how much accurately rated music I listen to. That being said, I'm still disappointed that New Radicals didn't release a follow-up....the chance to hear one guy play all the instruments and pretend to be a "band" - indicating a collection of multiple individuals making music together - never gets old to me. In fact, it's probably the primary reason Nine Inch Nails succeeded, whereas Alice In Chains eventually fell apart.
