I'll admit, I didn't care too much about the actual game during the Superbowl. I did my part as an American male, though, and diligently watched the first quarter while eating Doritos. But, I wasn't really rooting for either team, and the commercials were generally pretty lame (though, I the did laugh pretty hard at the tenacious Budwiser donkey and the NFL players singing "Tomorrow"). So, I started to lose interest and made dinner during a lot of the second quarter.

I stepped back in for the lip-sync fest that was the halftime show to see crowd-pleasing pop stars perform the songs that most of the viewing audience would know. Some of them had to reach back pretty far into their repertoire. ("Rhythm Nation?!" I was nine when that song came out.) There was a highlight, though: Kid Rock sucks quite a bit, but how about that drummer of his! If you missed it, she's a large African-American woman, and she was tearin things up. I like this, this surprising break from the typical band member "look." I think this means I can finally be that downtrodden blues singer/guitarist. No, you say? We'll see about that...

Ok, that picture is really funny. Although, I can't tell if you are playing the guitar on stage or in the bathroom a few days after eating a truck-load of beef jerky.
