Progress!
Forget the PC, the cell phone, or the DVD player. The greatest technological breakthrough in recent memory is the new glaucoma test they do during routine eye exams. The last time I was checked for the disease a few years ago, they had me put my chin and forehead against a metal frame. Then, without warning, they shoot this quick puff of air directly at your eyeball. If you know what's coming, you keep blinking and flinching and getting yelled at by the eye doctor to hold still. But would you hold still if you know a jet of cold air was about to punch you in the pupil?
Today, though, I had the new and improved glaucoma test. You get a few drop of solution, look straight ahead, have a light shined in your eye for about a second, and you're done. Nice!
